 The process information management system (PIMS) was heavily extended:

• interface to existing DCS
• interface to Siemens M70 legacy control computer, using 3964R protocol and proprietary datagrams
• extensive engineering calculations (heat and mass balances, stoichiometry)
• early fault detection
• characteristic diagrams
• send result of online calculations to TELEPERM/ME including necessary adaptation of the interface software (CIM-IO)
• adaptation of online calculations to current requirements
• optimization (energy minimization) of the controllers for the electrostatic precipitators (Lurgi Coromatic®R)
